Role Description The Director of Maintenance is a full-time, on-site role based at Punta Brava Golf and Surf Club in Baja California, Mexico. This position oversees all maintenance operations across the property, including buildings, common areas, mechanical systems, and related infrastructure. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and scheduling maintenance activities, supervising maintenance staff and contractors, and ensuring timely repair and upkeep of facilities and equipment.

The Director of Maintenance monitors safety and compliance standards, manages maintenance budgets, maintains records and reports, and collaborates with other departments to support club events and member services. The role involves hands-on problem solving, regular inspections of the property,



and continuous improvement of maintenance processes to sustain a high-quality environment for members and staff.

Qualifications

- Strong supervisory skills, including team leadership, task delegation, performance monitoring, and staff development.
- Hands-on experience in maintenance and repair, with proficiency in basic carpentry and general building systems.
- Background in facility management (FM), including coordination of building operations, utilities, and safety protocols.
- Proven maintenance management skills, including planning preventive maintenance, managing work orders, and overseeing vendors.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to hospitality or private club facilities.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, plans, and equipment documentation.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and follow-through.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external providers.
- Experience in hospitality, resort, or club environments is preferred.
- Relevant technical certification or diploma in facilities, engineering, or a related field; a degree in facilities management or engineering is an asset.
- Comfort working on-site in Baja California, Mexico, with flexibility for occasional evening or weekend needs.
