Automation Field Service Technician

PRIME-X is seeking an experienced Automation Field Service Technician to support industrial automation projects throughout the United States.

This is a field-based position with extensive travel, working directly at customer and project sites. We are looking for technicians with strong hands-on experience in industrial automation, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and equipment service.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform mechanical and electrical installation of industrial automation equipment.
- Support commissioning and startup activities, including pneumatic and wiring verification, I/O checkout, functional testing, and customer acceptance.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automation equipment.
- Support equipment repairs, upgrades, retrofits, adjustments, and optimization.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Work alongside controls engineers and project teams during installation and commissioning activities.
- Follow all customer and project safety procedures, including PPE, JHA, and LOTO requirements.
- Communicate professionally with customers and project teams at job sites.

Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, field service, installation, commissioning, or a related technical field.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with industrial automation equipment and systems.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- English level: B1 or higher,



sufficient for communication with customers, supervisors, and project teams.
- Valid driver's license.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the U.S., including short-notice travel.
- Immediate availability.
- Valid authorization to work in the United States. TN status/visa or another valid U.S. work authorization is required.

Additional Experience — Preferred Experience with rigging, forklift operation, or industrial safety training is also a plus.
