Account Manager Reports to: Director, Client Accounting Services Type: Full-time Location: RemoteThe role The Account Manager is client-facing first, with day-to-day oversight of the work behind it. You are the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, owning communication and the client experience, while working alongside the Project Lead, Senior Accountant, and Accountant who deliver the work. You're accountable for two things at once: every client in your portfolio feels well taken care of, and the numbers are right before they reach the Director's final review. You are the client's first call, the first-line reviewer, and a steady resource for the accountants on your clients. What you'll do Client ownership - Be the primary point of contact for an assigned portfolio of clients. - Present monthly financials, answer client questions, and flag issues before clients raise them. - Resolve routine client concerns directly, and escalate to the Director, CAS when needed. Quality control - Perform first-level review of monthly closes and cleanup deliverables for your clients before they go to the Director for final sign-off. - Catch and resolve errors at the source, working directly with the accountant who did the work. - Hold your client work to 8FF SOPs and deadlines.



Onboarding and transitions - Support new-client onboarding and historical cleanups under the Director's lead. - Keep clients informed on progress through onboarding and transitions. Team support and process - Coach accountants on your clients on 8FF process and standards, and give specific feedback that reduces repeat errors. - Flag recurring bottlenecks to the Director, CAS. Requirements - 3+ years of client accounting services or outsourced accounting firm, or in public accounting with client-facing responsibility. - Experience reviewing someone else's work or mentoring junior accountants. - Fluent in QuickBooks Online. We also run on Notion, Slack, and Double. This role isn't a fit if - You're not comfortable being a business owner's primary contact. - You want to stay heads-down in the books without client communication. - You're not interested in growing toward reviewing and leading others. What success looks like - Quality: deliverables reach the Director's review clean, with minimal rework. - Deadlines: no overdue close or cleanup deliverables across your clients. - Communication: same-day response to client and internal messages. - Ownership: clients know you're their person. - Growth: you're building toward Director-level review and team leadership.
