Position Overview

Everforth Apex Systems Mexico is seeking a Observability Migration Engineer to support a large-scale observability transformation initiative focused on onboarding applications and infrastructure into a modern monitoring and telemetry platform.

The engineer will work as part of a specialized migration pod, executing observability onboarding activities, validating telemetry pipelines, configuring monitoring components, and supporting application teams throughout migration activities. This position requires hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry, Grafana, and infrastructure telemetry concepts across Linux and Windows environments.

The ideal candidate combines technical observability expertise with strong communication skills and can effectively collaborate with application teams while following established migration processes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

Observability Migration Execution

- Support observability migration activities under the guidance of a Pod Lead.
- Configure monitoring agents and telemetry collectors in non-production environments.
- Validate telemetry collection and ingestion processes.
- Execute onboarding procedures for new applications and services.
- Verify observability configurations against migration standards.





Monitoring & Visualization

- Create and modify Grafana dashboards using established templates.
- Configure and update alerting rules and monitoring thresholds.
- Validate metrics, traces, and telemetry data flows.
- Troubleshoot visibility gaps and telemetry collection issues.
- Support baseline monitoring provisioning activities.

Telemetry & Instrumentation

- Validate OpenTelemetry instrumentation across supported applications.
- Verify trace propagation through observability pipelines.
- Support telemetry tagging and metadata standardization efforts.
- Perform Alloy verification and onboarding validation activities.
- Confirm proper resource attribute configuration and observability standards compliance.

Documentation & Governance

- Collect migration evidence and validation artifacts.
- Prepare migration records and onboarding documentation.
- Maintain onboarding and migration tracking information.
- Assemble required operational and observability records.
- Ensure activities align with established migration procedures.

Collaboration

- Work closely with Pod Leads, application teams, and engineering stakeholders.
- Communicate onboarding status, technical findings, and migration risks.




- Support application teams during telemetry onboarding activities.
- Participate in technical discussions related to monitoring and observability best practices.

Required Experience & Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ years of experience in observability, monitoring, systems engineering, cloud operations, platform engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry instrumentation for at least one runtime environment.
- Experience working with Grafana dashboards and alerting.
- Working knowledge of PromQL or equivalent query languages.
- Understanding of distributed tracing concepts.
- Knowledge of Linux and Windows host telemetry fundamentals.
- Experience validating metrics, logs, and traces in monitoring environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot telemetry collection and observability pipeline issues.
- Professional English communication skills and experience working directly with technical stakeholders.
- Experience documenting technical procedures and onboarding activities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience instrumenting Java-based applications using OpenTelemetry.
- Python scripting experience.
- PowerShell scripting experience.
- Basic AWS knowledge including:
- EC2
- ECS
- CloudWatch
- Experience with Grafana Alloy.
- Familiarity with enterprise observability migration programs.
- Exposure to platform engineering, SRE, or monitoring center-of-excellence initiatives.
- Industry certifications related to observability, cloud platforms, or monitoring technologies.
