Job Title: Import Coordinator
Job Summary:
This role involves coordinating transportation, overseeing inventor, and collaborating with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to guarantee that deliveries are on time and meet customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and track shipments to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Select the appropriate shipping methods based on cost, delivery time, and shipment type.
- Coordinate with third-party carriers, freight forwarders, and suppliers to ensure smooth operations.
- Coordinate with internal teams, such as warehouse and inventory departments, to ensure that goods are received and properly documented upon arrival.
- Handle all necessary paperwork for imports, ensuring accuracy and completeness to avoid delays or fines.
- Maintain records of import transactions, customs documents, and shipment tracking information.
- Provide updates on shipment status and address any issues, delays, or discrepancies.
- Negotiate with suppliers and carriers to obtain the best rates and services.
- Review and negotiate shipping rates with freight forwarders and other service providers to ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Ensure that all import costs, including shipping, customs duties, and taxes,
are properly accounted for and within budget.
- Address any issues related to import shipments, such as delays, damaged goods, or incorrect documentation, and work to resolve them in a timely manner.
- Manage disputes or claims with suppliers, shipping companies, or customs authorities as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Management, business, or related field (preferred)
- At least 2-3 years of experience in international logistics, supply chain, or import coordination.
- Advanced english
- Proficiency with SAP, WMS and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of transportation and shipping regulations
Skills:
- Communication skills: To interact with suppliers, customs authorities, and internal teams.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to manage complex documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement solutions in a timely manner.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple shipments and deadlines.
