The Bookkeeping Specialist maintains accurate, timely, and tax-focused financial records for small business clients, primarily on a cash-basis reporting framework. Operating in a structured, process-driven environment, this role combines core accounting workflows such as reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and compliance filings with AI tools to streamline production and optimize accounting operations.

Responsibilities Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations for multiple clients using automation tools. Utilize Kick and Claude to automate data entry categorization and accounting workflows. Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining general ledger accuracy. Manage month end close processes and prepare financial statements for review. Identify and correct accounting discrepancies independently and efficiently. File sales tax returns and assist with compliance filings such as LLC annual reports. Process light payroll and apply knowledge of US based payroll laws. Apply correct accounting treatment for asset sales equity transactions liabilities and basis considerations. Assist with cleanup and catch up bookkeeping projects for client portfolios. Maintain books in alignment with tax focused reporting practices. Communicate through internal structured systems when clarification is needed. Requirements Strong working experience in Quick Books Online. Deep understanding of US accounting principles and cash basis reporting frameworks.



Proven hands on experience using Kick and Claude to automate bookkeeping workflows. Solid experience with bank reconciliations journal entries and general ledger management. Experience preparing financial statements and managing month end close processes. Working knowledge of sales tax compliance LLC filings and US payroll regulations. Strong understanding of equity liabilities basis and asset sales reporting. Demonstrated experience managing multiple client accounts simultaneously. Ability to identify accounting errors and resolve them independently without supervision on core accounting principles. Strong time management detail orientation and process driven problem solving skills. Nice to Have Experience with job costing and construction based client accounts. Prior experience in a tax preparation or public accounting firm environment. Experience assisting with operational process improvement and internal software integration.
