Urban West Ventures is a privately held commercial real estate investment firm that acquires and repositions underperforming properties — primarily multi-tenant industrial, flex, and automotive repair assets. We're looking for a Commercial Property Accountant to maintain accurate, on-time accounting across all our entities, giving ownership reliable financials and cash visibility without having to chase it down.

This is a commercial real estate accounting role specifically — CAM reconciliations, multi-entity portfolio accounting, and lease-driven billing, not general small-business bookkeeping.

This role reports to our Director of Property Management, with reporting visibility to ownership directly.

Full-time, long-term contract role, with availability significantly overlapping U.S. Pacific business hours. Rate: $20–$40/hr, or more, depending on experience.

This position is remote in Mexico.

Compensation:

$20 - $40 hourly

Responsibilities:

- Close the books on a fixed monthly calendar — preliminary financials by the 8th, open items resolved by the 12th, final financials delivered by the 15th
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, with complete, accurate monthly reports delivered on schedule
- Own budgeting — prepare and track annual budgets against actuals, flagging variances to ownership
- Onboard new tenants and keep lease/tenant accounts accurate — set up new accounts promptly on lease signing, track security deposits correctly, keep rent roll and tenant bill-backs accurate
- Serve as the tenant point of contact for billing and account questions, resolved promptly and professionally
- Reconcile construction budgets — track capital project spend against budget, properly categorizing capital improvements
- Prepare monthly CAM budget reconciliations and tenant invoicing on schedule
- Manage cash flow reporting — deliver a monthly integral cash flow statement across the portfolio plus property-level detail, weekly/monthly KPIs and aging reports, weekly bank and credit card reconciliations, and W-9 collection from vendors




- Handle annual compliance — prepare Forms 1099 and 1096, and deliver year-end information to the tax accountant on time

Qualifications:

- Real commercial real estate accounting experience — CAM reconciliation, NNN/lease-driven billing, and multi-entity portfolio accounting specifically
- Full-cycle accounting skills: AP/AR, month-end close, financial statement prep, reconciliations
- Exceptional attention to detail — this role manages multiple entities simultaneously, and small errors compound across a portfolio
- Reliability against a fixed monthly close calendar — deadlines here don't move
- Strong budgeting and variance analysis skills
- Excellent written and spoken English (this role is tenant-facing on billing questions)
- Experience with Rent Manager is a strong plus, though not required
- Please don't apply without direct commercial real estate accounting experience — general small-business bookkeeping alone won't be a fit for CAM reconciliation and multi-entity portfolio work
