About the role

Blast Institute is a regenerative medicine and longevity organization headquartered in Los Cabos, working with autologous pluripotent stem cell (PSC) therapies, PSC-derived exosomes, and non-viral gene therapy. We are opening a new facility in Cancun and are looking for a Functional Medicine Physician to guide our patients' health from their first consultation through long-term follow-up.

In this role, you will take a root-cause, whole-person approach to each patient: evaluating their metabolic, hormonal, inflammatory, and lifestyle picture, preparing them for their regenerative program, performing local injections as part of their treatment, and designing the personalized plan that supports and sustains their results after they return home. You will work closely with our medical and scientific teams so that functional medicine and regenerative therapies reinforce each other.

Success in this role means patients who arrive well prepared and in optimal condition for treatment, personalized plans that patients understand and follow, measurable improvement in their biomarkers and well-being over time, and long-term relationships that bring patients back and lead them to recommend Blast to others. This position is central to how the Cancun facility delivers a complete longevity experience rather than a single treatment.

Responsibilities

- Conduct in-depth initial consultations covering medical history, lifestyle, nutrition, sleep, stress, environmental exposures, and personal health goals.
- Order and interpret advanced laboratory panels, including metabolic, hormonal, inflammatory, micronutrient, gut health, and longevity biomarkers.
- Identify underlying contributors to each patient's health concerns and translate findings into clear, individualized care plans.
- Prepare patients for their regenerative program by optimizing nutrition, supplementation, hormonal balance, and overall readiness before treatment.




- Collaborate with the treating physicians and scientific team to integrate functional medicine findings into each patient's regenerative protocol.
- Perform local injections as part of patients' regenerative programs, including intra-articular, soft-tissue, and subcutaneous administration, following Blast clinical protocols and aseptic technique.
- Design post-program plans (nutrition, supplementation, movement, sleep, stress management) that support and extend the benefits of treatment.
- Provide ongoing follow-up, in person and remotely, tracking biomarkers and adjusting plans over time.
- Maintain accurate, complete medical records and contribute structured outcome data to Blast's clinical database.
- Educate patients in clear, accessible language, and contribute to educational content, workshops, and events as the facility grows.

Qualifications

Required

- Medical degree with a valid Mexican cédula cualificado.
- Minimum [3] years of clinical practice, with demonstrated experience in functional, integrative, or longevity medicine.
- Hands-on experience performing injections, with sound knowledge of anatomy and safe injection technique.
- Strong ability to interpret advanced laboratory testing and translate results into practical, personalized recommendations.
- Solid knowledge of clinical nutrition, hormone health, metabolic health, and evidence-based supplementation.
- Fluency in Spanish and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A warm, patient-centered approach and the ability to build long-term trust with patients.

Preferred:
- Background in orthopedics, sports medicine, or musculoskeletal medicine, including joint and soft-tissue injections; experience with ultrasound-guided injections is a plus.
- Certification from the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) or a comparable functional or integrative medicine program (e.g., A4M).
- Specialty training in internal medicine, family medicine, endocrinology, or a related field.
- Interest in or experience with regenerative medicine, cell therapy, or longevity science.
- Experience working with international patients in a premium or medical-tourism setting.
- Familiarity with telemedicine and remote patient follow-up.
