Industrial Automation and Controls Engineer

An international company specializing in industrial automation and technology solutions for manufacturing is seeking an Industrial Automation and Controls Engineer. This role will develop automation projects and provide technical support for presses and production lines, with a focus on improving equipment reliability and reducing downtime.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electromechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

- 3 to 5 years of experience in industrial automation.

- Hands-on experience programming and troubleshooting

Allen-Bradley PLCs is required.

- Experience with ControlLogix, CompactLogix, or MicroLogix.

- Knowledge of HMIs, variable frequency drives, servo motors, sensors, instrumentation, and motion control systems.

- Knowledge of industrial communication networks and industrial electronics.

- Conversational English proficiency, including the ability to discuss technical matters.

- Intermediate Excel skills.

- Availability to work rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

- Design, program, and improve control and automation systems using Allen-Bradley PLCs.

- Configure HMIs, drives, servo motors, sensors, and instrumentation.





- Diagnose and resolve control system faults to minimize downtime.

- Provide technical support to the Maintenance team and collaborate with Production and Engineering.

- Lead automation projects from installation and testing through commissioning.

- Identify opportunities to upgrade or replace obsolete control systems.

- Coordinate external vendors and monitor technical specifications and project timelines.

- Maintain up-to-date programs, backups, electrical diagrams, and equipment configurations.

- Develop solutions for material handling, motion control, process monitoring, inspection, and automated measurement.

- Support continuous improvement initiatives and new product launches.

Rotating shifts

- First shift: 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

- Second shift: 2:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

- Third shift: 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Shifts are scheduled from Monday to Saturday. The third shift that begins on Saturday ends on Sunday morning.
