Role

We are looking for a developer who is genuinely interested in science and scientific problem-solving, not only in software development. This role is particularly suited to someone who enjoys understanding how scientific problems work and using software to help solve them.

The primary focus of the position is developing software tools, applications, and automation for scientific and computational work.

This position is designed for recent graduates and developers at the beginning of their careers. We are primarily looking for problem-solving ability, potential, curiosity, and the ability to learn rather than extensive professional experience or credentials.

Main Activities

- Translate scientific simulation workflows into reliable and maintainable software and automation.
- Build internal tools and rapid prototypes.
- Work closely with scientists to understand their workflows and software needs.
- Develop, test, debug, and maintain small software projects.
- Contribute to the development of internal LLM-based tools designed to improve and streamline scientific workflows.

Skills
- Strong Python fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience using agentic coding tools such as Codex or Claude Code while maintaining good software engineering practices.
- Knowledge of PEP 8 for writing clean, consistent, and maintainable Python code.
- Git and version control.
- Understanding of web APIs and common HTTP operations such as GET and POST.
- Good debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Basic SQL and database knowledge; familiarity with database migrations and tools such as Alembic.




- Basic knowledge of Docker and Docker Compose.

Nice to Have
- Experience building Python-based web applications using FastAPI, Flask, Django, or similar frameworks.
- Experience with Streamlit.
- Next.js, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Interest in UI/UX and an understanding of usability and interface design principles.
- Exposure to or interest in scientific or engineering software, whether through academic, personal, or professional projects.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15,000.00 - $22,000.00 per month
