POSITION SUMMARY

Focused on reducing manufacturing costs of the product through engagement in current finished goods and new product implementation (NPI), process improvement during the assembly, test and packaging of the product, changes (ECO) and the end-of-life process (EOL). The role interacts with all levels of the organization including Engineering, Product Management, Supply Chain, Production and Quality Assurance and demonstrates a commitment to lean principles and continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The statements on this are intended to describe the general nature and level of work. Incumbents may perform other duties as assigned.

- Evaluate and advance manufacturing processes by developing and implementing best practices, working also with new products, fixture development, manufacturing/assembly capabilities, equipment, tooling, packaging design, quality control standards and test processes.
- Collaborate with design engineering, supply chain, production, product management and other teams to ensure effective transfer of products from design to production, including overseeing operations through production release, as well as time studies for NPI’s and for current products. Coordinate assembly runs for new products (MPR).
- Leads the development of an efficient manufacturing assembly line,



workflows and detailed work instructions. This includes developing the process flow and manufacturing process and test instructions (MPIs), including equipment and test requirements and procedures for new product introduction.
- Establish product quality control standards & process controls during manufacturing of product and implement monitoring procedures.
- Responsible for the validation and qualification of new manufacturing equipment, processes and training required for new product introduction, and making recommendations on opportunities to in-source or out-source manufacturing of product lines.
- Analyzing problems and implementing the appropriate strategies to continuously improve processes.
- Work collaboratively with production personnel to facilitate daily production objectives and positively open to assume additional duties as required by supervisor, in alignment with organizational needs and production objectives.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in engineering.

Lean Manufacturing / 5S / Six Sigma is preferred.

Handle specifications for components.

Fiber optical tests and Optical physics knowledge is a plus.

3+ years in manufacturing engineering (low volume/high mix preferred).

SKILLS

Advanced English. Spoken and written English with native speakers.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel).

Be able to train assemblers according to instructions and procedures

SALARY & BENEFITS:

Salario mensual nominal: $36,570
