Summary

Core Molding Technologies is seeking a Plant Director to lead all aspects of plant operations, driving performance across manufacturing, engineering, quality, safety, delivery, and customer satisfaction. This role has full accountability for plant performance, including P&L; ownership, operational execution, and team leadership. The Plant Director partners with site and corporate leadership to deliver results, build a strong culture, and establish a high-performing, world-class manufacturing operation.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead all plant operations, including manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain, and safety
- Own plant P&L; performance, driving profitability, cost control, and operational efficiency
- Establish and execute strategies to achieve targets in safety, quality, delivery, and cost
- Lead and develop the plant leadership team; establish performance goals and ensure accountability for results
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives across the site
- Ensure strong process discipline and adherence to quality and operational standards
- Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
- Allocate resources effectively to meet production and business objectives
- Monitor plant performance through KPIs and implement corrective actions as needed
- Partner with customers, suppliers, and corporate leadership to support business growth and new program launches

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- 3+ years of experience as a Plant Manager or Plant Director in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Strong expertise in Lean Manufacturing, process controls, and quality systems, including IATF 16949 / TS 16949
- Experience with root cause analysis, Six Sigma, 8D, and structured problem-solving tools
- Demonstrated engineering and manufacturing process knowledge
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing plant-level P&L;
- Proven track record of improving safety performance and operational results
- Experience working with OEM customers and customer-facing programs
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
- Solid understanding of EHS regulations and compliance requirements

Preferred Experience

- Experience with thermoplastic materials and injection molding processes
- Experience with molding equipment and processes
- Demonstrated success improving or turning around underperforming operations

Work Environment & Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday. Extended hours and weekend work may be required based on business needs. This role operates in a manufacturing office and shop floor environment.
