Company Description Invest Northern Ireland is the economic development agency for Northern Ireland, supporting trade and investment internationally. Invest Northern Ireland assists our exporters to find and appoint integral partners through direct introductions, trade events, and exhibitions across a wide range of sectors, including construction, mining, aggregates, and waste & recycling equipment.

Role Description The Regional Director Latin America & Caribbean Construction, Mining, Aggregates and Waste & Recycling Equipment is a full-time, on-site role based in Mexico City, Mexico. This role is responsible for developing and delivering regional strategies to grow trade and investment between Northern Ireland and markets across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Day-to-day activities include identifying market opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with local partners, distributors, industry bodies, and government agencies, and supporting Northern Ireland companies with market entry, business development, and growth.

The Regional

Director will organize and participate in trade missions, “Meet the Buyer” events, and sector-focused exhibitions, while providing market intelligence, sector insights, and tailored advice to Northern Ireland exporters and potential investors. The role also involves managing stakeholder expectations,



preparing reports and presentations, and working closely with the broader Invest Northern Ireland Americas team to ensure coordinated delivery of trade and investment initiatives.

Qualifications

- Experience in regional business development, dealer development and trade promotion, ideally within Latin America and the Caribbean, with a focus on construction, mining, aggregates, or waste & recycling equipment.
- Strong relationship management skills, including the ability to engage with senior stakeholders in companies, industry associations, and government agencies.
- Proven ability to analyze markets, identify commercial opportunities, and develop sector strategies that support export growth,
- Excellent communication skills in English, with professional proficiency in Spanish; Portuguese or other regional languages are an advantage.
- Experience organizing and delivering trade missions, business delegations, conferences, or industry events is beneficial.
- Solid understanding of international commerce, including routes to market, distributor networks, and regulatory and compliance considerations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, a graduate degree is beneficial.
