Rate: $17-$23 per hour in USD; final rate based on experience and fit

NTT DATA is seeking a hands-on Senior Software Engineer specializing in TypeScript, Node.js, and AWS Lambda. The role focuses on designing, building, testing, deploying, and supporting secure, scalable serverless applications.

Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, test, and maintain TypeScript/Node.js services, REST APIs, and AWS Lambda applications.
- Build event-driven workflows using API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, and Step Functions, applying retries, idempotency, and error-handling patterns.
- Integrate customer-facing channels, internal platforms, and third-party systems through APIs, webhooks, and asynchronous messaging.
- Write unit, integration, and contract tests; conduct code reviews; and maintain strict typing and clean-code standards.
- Define infrastructure with AWS CDK or equivalent tools and build automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Apply secure coding, least-privilege IAM, input validation, secrets management, and OAuth 2.0/OIDC practices.
- Implement observability, troubleshoot incidents, optimize Lambda performance and cost, mentor developers, and own features through production support.

Required Experience:

- 6+ years of software development experience and 3+ years building production services on AWS.
- Advanced TypeScript and Node.js skills, including strict typing, generics, asynchronous programming, optimization, and type-safe API contracts.
- Production experience with AWS Lambda, including handlers, cold starts, concurrency, Lambda layers, and esbuild packaging.
- Hands-on experience with AWS SDK for JavaScript v3, API Gateway,



EventBridge, SQS, SNS, and Step Functions.
- Experience with RESTful microservices, OpenAPI, webhooks, and synchronous and asynchronous integrations.
- Experience with DynamoDB and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Aurora, or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK, SAM, CloudFormation, or Terraform, plus CI/CD using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or CodePipeline.
- Testing with Jest or Vitest, including AWS service mocking and unit, integration, and contract tests.
- Experience with IAM, Cognito or equivalent, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, Secrets Manager, or Parameter Store.
- Experience supporting distributed, event-driven production systems within Agile/Scrum teams.

Nice-to-Have:

- Powertools for AWS Lambda using TypeScript or a similar framework.
- AWS X-Ray and Grafana, Prometheus, or Kibana.

Required Equipment: This role requires a personal laptop and installation of company security and device management software for the duration of the engagement.
