Role Description This is a full-time, remote role for a Spanish to English Medical Interpreter. The interpreter will provide accurate, confidential, and culturally sensitive interpretation between Spanish-speaking patients and English-speaking medical professionals in a variety of healthcare settings, primarily via phone or video platforms.

Day-to-day tasks include listening carefully to spoken Spanish, conveying messages clearly in English, and vice versa, while preserving meaning, tone, and intent. The role involves applying medical terminology accurately, following established protocols, and documenting sessions in accordance with company and client requirements. The interpreter will participate in company-provided training, use proprietary language management systems, and collaborate with supervisors and colleagues to ensure high quality and consistent service.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in Medical Interpretation and Interpreting, with the ability to facilitate clear communication between Spanish and English speakers in healthcare contexts.
- Candidates should possess skills in Translation and Simultaneous Interpretation to accurately render spoken messages in real time while maintaining meaning and nuance.
- Candidates should possess solid knowledge of Medical Terminology in both Spanish and English, enabling precise and safe communication in clinical and administrative healthcare settings.
- Fluency in Spanish and English (both spoken and written), with excellent listening, memory, and note-taking abilities.
- High level of professionalism, ethical conduct, and respect for confidentiality and patient privacy (familiarity with HIPAA or equivalent standards is a plus).
- Comfort with remote work, including reliable internet access, a quiet and private workspace, and proficiency with computer and web-based communication tools.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to remain calm, empathetic, and neutral in sensitive or urgent situations.
- Prior experience in medical or community interpreting is beneficial; completion of interpreter training or certification programs is a plus (company provides free training for qualified candidates).
- Availability to work full-time schedules that may include evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays.
