Position Overview
BEPC is seeking a motivated Junior Software Developer to support the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications and systems. This position is idóneo for an early-career developer who has a strong foundation in programming concepts and is eager to expand their technical skills while working alongside experienced developers and cross-functional teams.

The Junior Software Developer will assist with coding, troubleshooting, testing, documentation, and software enhancements while learning established development standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications.

Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code under the guidance of senior developers.

Develop and modify application features based on business and technical requirements.

Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and technical issues.

Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality.

Perform unit testing and support application testing and validation activities.

Assist with software deployments, upgrades, enhancements, and maintenance.

Work with databases, APIs, and other application integrations as required.

Create and maintain technical documentation.

Collaborate with developers, business analysts, project managers, QA teams, and other stakeholders.





Participate in Agile/Scrum activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Follow established software development lifecycle (SDLC), coding, security, and documentation standards.

Stay current with emerging technologies, programming languages, and development practices.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

0–2 years of professional software development experience.

Basic understanding of object-oriented programming and software development principles.

Familiarity with relational databases and SQL.

Exposure to REST APIs, web services, or application integrations.

Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.

Basic understanding of software testing and debugging techniques.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to learn new technologies and technical concepts quickly.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative development team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Internship, co-op, academic, or personal project experience involving software development.

Exposure to frameworks such as React, Angular, .NET, Spring/Spring Boot, Node.js, or similar technologies .

Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.

Exposure to Agile/Scrum development environments.

Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and DevOps tools.

Understanding basic cybersecurity and secure coding practices.
