Chief Operating Officer (COO) | C-Level Executive Opportunity

About the Company

We are seeking a high-impact Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead the company’s operational strategy in Mexico and capitalize on the significant opportunities created by nearshoring, manufacturing expansion, and supply chain transformation.

This is a true C-Level leadership role for an accomplished executive with deep expertise in operations, manufacturing, supply chain, operational excellence, and complex business transformation.

The COO will work directly with the CEO and executive leadership team to improve operational performance, increase profitability, strengthen supply chain resilience, and build a scalable operating model capable of supporting the company’s next stage of growth.

About the Role

The COO will have overall responsibility for the company’s operational performance and execution.

This executive will lead the strategy and performance of manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, procurement, planning, operational excellence, and process optimization, ensuring that the organization can respond rapidly and effectively to changing market conditions and nearshoring opportunities.

We are looking for a business-oriented operations leader, not simply an operations specialist.

Key Responsibilities

- Define and execute the company’s overall operational strategy.
- Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team and strategic partner to the CEO.
- Lead manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, procurement, planning, and operational excellence.
- Develop and execute strategies to capitalize on nearshoring and manufacturing expansion opportunities in Mexico.
- Optimize end-to-end supply chain performance, inventory, service levels, cost, and working capital.
- Improve manufacturing productivity, efficiency, quality, capacity utilization, and profitability.
- Lead operational transformation, restructuring, and continuous improvement initiatives.




- Streamline complex operational processes and eliminate inefficiencies.
- Build scalable systems, processes, and organizational structures to support future growth.
- Lead strategic sourcing, supplier development, localization, and supply chain resilience initiatives.
- Establish operational KPIs, dashboards, performance standards, and accountability mechanisms.
- Identify operational risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Lead major CapEx projects, capacity expansions, plant launches, and footprint optimization initiatives.
- Partner closely with Finance, Commercial, Engineering, HR, and other executive functions.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing senior operations organization.
- Create a culture of execution, accountability, quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain.
- Significant experience in COO, VP Operations, VP Supply Chain, General Management, or equivalent executive leadership roles.
- Proven track record leading large-scale or complex manufacturing operations.
- Strong experience in supply chain strategy, manufacturing excellence, and operational transformation.
- Demonstrated success improving productivity, reducing costs, and increasing operational profitability.
- Experience managing multi-site, multi-function, or geographically dispersed operations.
- Strong understanding of nearshoring, localization, supply chain redesign, and manufacturing expansion in Mexico.
- Proven experience managing complex supplier networks and integral supply chains.




- Strong financial and commercial acumen, including P&L;, CapEx, cost structures, and operational profitability.
- Proven ability to lead large organizations and develop senior leadership teams.
- Strong executive presence and ability to interact effectively with CEOs, Boards, customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field.
- MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Advanced English required.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in automotive, industrial, aerospace, electronics, consumer products, or other complex manufacturing environments.
- Experience leading plant launches, capacity expansion, footprint optimization, or operational restructuring.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, and operational excellence methodologies.
- Direct experience leading or supporting major nearshoring initiatives in Mexico.
