Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced MySQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team and support a critical client environment. The idóneo candidate will have strong hands-on experience in MySQL database administration, performance tuning, backup & recovery, high availability, monitoring and troubleshooting.
The role requires someone who can independently manage database operations, identify performance issues, ensure database availability and work closely with application, infrastructure and development teams.

Key Responsibilities
● Install, configure, upgrade and maintain MySQL databases across development, test and production environments.
● Perform database administration, monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting.
● Monitor database performance, availability, capacity and health.
● Perform query optimization, indexing and performance tuning.
● Analyze slow queries and identify database performance bottlenecks.
● Manage backup and recovery strategies and regularly validate backups.
● Troubleshoot database issues, incidents and performance problems in production.
● Manage database users, roles, privileges and access controls.
● Implement and maintain High Availability (HA), replication and disaster recovery solutions.
● Monitor and troubleshoot MySQL replication issues.
● Perform database upgrades, patches and migrations with minimal downtime.
● Support database capacity planning and storage management.
● Develop and maintain database monitoring and maintenance procedures.
● Participate in production deployments, database changes and release activities.
● Work with developers to review SQL queries, database designs and performance-related issues.
● Maintain database documentation, operational procedures and runbooks.
● Participate in on-call/production support as required.




● Follow ITIL/change-management processes and maintain proper documentation for production changes.
● Collaborate with application, DevOps, cloud and infrastructure teams to resolve complex technical issues.

Required Technical Skills:
● 5+Strong hands-on experience with MySQL Database Administration.
● Good understanding of MySQL architecture, storage engines and database internals.
● Strong SQL skills.
● Experience with query optimization and performance tuning.
● Hands-on experience with MySQL replication.
● Experience with backup and recovery tools and methodologies.
● Experience managing database users, privileges and security.
● Good knowledge of database monitoring and troubleshooting.
● Experience with Linux/Unix environments.
● Knowledge of shell scripting is an advantage.
● Experience with database upgrades, migrations and patching.
● Understanding of High Availability and Disaster Recovery concepts.

Good to Have
● Experience with AWS / Azure / GCP database environments.
● Experience with Amazon RDS/Aurora MySQL or equivalent managed database services.
● Knowledge of automation using Python or Shell scripting.
● Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Percona Monitoring and Management (PMM) or similar.
● Knowledge of Percona Toolkit.
● Experience supporting large-scale production databases.
● Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices.
