At Sony, we are looking for a Data Scientist – IT Security Analytics & Reporting who will help us transform large volumes of information into strategic insights to support decision-making within a global organization.

This position will be responsible for designing analytics solutions, integrating multiple data sources, including CMDB, endpoint security data, identity management, SCCM/Microsoft Configuration Manager, and cloud environment inventories, developing executive dashboards, and generating security metrics that provide visibility into trends, improvement opportunities, and the organization's overall security posture.

You will work with international technology, infrastructure, and security teams, collaborating across regions and operating companies to build a comprehensive, data-driven view of IT security.

Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end data lifecycle, including data extraction, transformation, cleansing, analysis, correlation, and visualization. Build and maintain executive dashboards and security KPIs for CISO-level reporting, providing clear visibility into security posture, trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement. Design and maintain dashboards using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric or other modern data platforms. Create scalable data models and reporting structures to support global security metrics. Integrate and analyze information from multiple platforms, including CMDB/Asset Management, endpoint security solutions, SCCM/Microsoft Configuration Manager, identity systems, and cloud environments. Integrate cloud inventory and security data from AWS, GCP, and Azure. Reconcile and correlate asset information from different sources to establish a reliable and consistent view of technology assets across regions. Analyze large volumes of data to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, data quality issues, and opportunities for improvement. Develop security KPIs and executive reports for global leadership and CISO-level stakeholders.



Automate analytics processes and recurring reporting activities to improve efficiency and data reliability. Document data models, pipelines, refresh processes, KPI definitions, and reporting logic. Collaborate with general teams and stakeholders across different regions and time zones to understand information needs and translate them into effective analytics solutions. Support data-driven discussions around security posture, remediation priorities, and operational performance.

Requirements

Experience as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, Analytics Engineer, Data Scientist, or Data Engineer. Strong experience with Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and visualization. Strong SQL skills and experience working with large volumes of data. Experience managing databases and integrating multiple data sources. Experience creating dashboards and reports for different levels of an organization, including executive audiences. Experience with CMDB / Asset Management data and reconciling information across multiple sources. Hands-on experience with SCCM / Microsoft Configuration Manager or other endpoint management/security platforms. Experience working with Microsoft Fabric, Data Warehouse, Lakehouse, or similar modern data platforms. Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, and/or Azure. Ability to analyze complex information and translate it into clear insights and recommendations. Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to collaborate across regions, teams, and time zones. Advanced English skills for collaboration with international teams.

Nice to Have

Experience with Python or Power Shell for automation, data extraction, or analysis. Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or other modern data platforms. Knowledge of endpoint security, vulnerability management, identity, cloud security, or other IT Security domains. Familiarity with security tools and technologies such as EDR/EPP, Entra ID/Active Directory, DLP, or CSPM. Understanding of security frameworks or metrics programs such as CIS Controls or NIST CSF. Experience supporting CISO-level or executive security reporting.
