Role Summary:
As a statutory accountant for LATAM you will be responsible to prepare the Statutory accounting, planning and audit with all related internal stakeholders (R2R, AP, Treasury) and external (Auditors, TAX) stakeholders for several entities. The statutory specialist ensures the proper statutory accounting of the balance sheet and income statement of Vernova HQ entities.
Job Description:
Specifically, this role's primary responsibilities include:
Manage statutory reporting of 13 LATAM GEV legal entities
Set up, reconcile and maintain USGAAP to local GAAP adjustments.
Identify the standard differences (Stat To Gaap) - permanent or temporary - between US GAAP and Local GAAP.
Responsible for ensuring all statutory regulatory filings are completed timely, efficiently and in compliance with local regulatory requirements.
Strong support to one or several VHQ Businesses as Primary point-of-contact for queries relating to the local regulatory timelines, process steps, status updates in terms of statutory preparation and audit
Manage relations with external and internal auditors
Manage tax audits for accounting aspects
Support changes in legal organization structure changes including Mergers, Acquisitions and Dispositions and various accounting and finance projects related to system migration and process simplification
Support initiatives aimed at improving or modifying accounting systems and processes, where appropriate, and back all initiatives aimed at reducing redundant or inefficient activities
Implement consistent and effective processes and controls across monthly, quarterly, and daily accounting processes within the Vernova headquarters team
Basic Requirements:
Bachelors' degree or equivalent knowledge or experience in accounting, finance,



or other business-related field and significant progressive accounting or finance experience
Extensive experience working with financial systems including but not limited to Oracle, Hyperion, Business Objects and/or other related tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear/concise manner
Strong analytical skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change
Clear thinking/problem

successfully led projects/process improvements within operations/finance functions; able to quickly grasp new ideas
