Job Description

Main Job Purpose
Develop, concept, design high quality connector systems within agreed project timing according to company procedures and customer requirements, leading the product development from start to production.
Role may include focus on conceptualization and initial design with hand-off to move to production.

Main Tasks
Develop high voltage connector systems according to customer and KOSTAL standards & procedures.
Ensure feasible, robust, innovative and cost effective designs in accordance to market requirements.
Initiates and tracks complete product validation according to customer specification in close relationship with KOSTAL test lab.
Initiates engineering changes in order to increase robustness and/or profitability or to accommodate customer requests.
Develop competitive design concepts within market timing requirements.
Assure design is according to DFA/DFM KOSTAL processes.
This position will require a high level of CAD development.
Support customer builds (as required) at their facilities.
Develops tolerance stack ups of the designed product to ensure robustness.
Leads and maintains DFMEA activities
Provide all required support and information regarding components and assemblies to all internal and external customers.




Develop DVP&R; and test requests

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline
8+ years related experience in automotive / aerospace industry
5 years of experience in automotive connectors (high voltage experience preferred)
Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA preferred)
Proficient understanding of Automotive Sector – OEM’s – Tier 1/2
Solid understanding of DFA (Design for Assembly) and DFM (Design for Manufacturing)

Use, Workflow, Milestones, reporting

Product Validation
Procedure, set up, Dossier tool

Statistical Analysis
Methodology, application, reporting

Product Development
Phases, requirements, analysis and decision making

Root Cause Analysis
8D, 5W, Fishbone, etc.
