Position Summary

The hose product engineering team is responsible for the design, development, and performance testing of hoses used in hydraulic, industrial, fluid transfer, and automotive applications. In this role there will be opportunities to work with a diverse product offering spanning multiple applications and markets with the guidance of more senior product development engineers. The right candidate will become a member of an experienced team, executing projects globally to drive expansion of the fluid power business. The product reliability team is responsible for product forensic analysis (FA), technique and systems development to support FA and providing statistical analysis on existing product performance to construct reliability models to optimize testing and product performance. The reliability team is also responsible for creating new mathematical methods and validating correlations to advance the science of hose design, as well as piloting new product concepts and technology to drive innovation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Direct work responsibilities will include:
- Product BOM management
- Creation of lab orders for product testing
- Analyzing product test results
- Organizing and monitoring builds of test materials
- Benchmarking of products in industry
- Experimentation to enhance product design
- Forensic analysis
- Interaction with a cross functional integral teams (including operations, quality, material development, process engineering, commercial, etc.)
- Must be able to quickly learn to apply core engineering and six sigma skills such as problem solving, SPC data collection and analysis, FMEA, DOE, etc.
- Limited travel may be required (5-20%), potentially including international travel

- Create final packaging specification to assure product finishing is complete, accurate and efficient.
- Develop and maintain packaging BOM’s for products (both manufactured and outpurchased) and align specification with product BOM structure.
- Achieve packaging cost-downs by using alternative materials or packaging methods. Analyze and report on alternatives to assure improvement.
- Create packaging specifications using AutoCAD drafting software
- Coordinate with international affiliates and customers to ensure packaging satisfies their requirements. Solve export damage problems resulting from improper packaging.
- Perform packaging audits at the COHISA manufacturing facility
- Ensure proper implementation of all packaging and branding changes.

Supervisory Responsibilities





- This role is for an individual contributor with no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements and Preferred Skills

- 4 to 7 years of engineering experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Production Processes Engineering, or a related engineering field
- Background with functional application of engineering techniques listed in essential duties and responsibilities is preferred
- Typically requires a college or university degree or the equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles and concepts
- Fluent in English
- Must be able to independently manage time, task, and project execution needs
- Ability to interpret and apply mathematical and statistical models and information
- Experience and confidence in face-to-face, phone, video call, and email communications
- Ability to work with a cross functional team, as well as team members from other areas of the organization including those in other nations
- Computer applications including spreadsheets, word processing, presentations, and timeline projection (e.g. Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Power point)

- Ability to adapt to rapid changes and new systems as needed
- Familiarity with specific hose constructions, and product engineering needs
