As a Purchasing Specialist at FLSmidth & Co. AS, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring goods and services essential for our general operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery.

Job Responsibilities

Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery timelines.

Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.

Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve favorable agreements.

Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality, delivery, or invoicing.

Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., engineering, production, logistics) to understand their procurement needs and ensure seamless supply chain operations.

Maintain accurate purchasing records, including supplier information, order details, and contract agreements.

Conduct market research to identify new products, suppliers, and industry trends.

Participate in cost reduction initiatives and process improvement projects.

Ensure compliance with FLSmidth & Co.



AS's ethical sourcing guidelines and sustainability policies.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

2-4 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Proven negotiation skills and experience in supplier relationship management.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.

Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus.

Knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures is desirable.
