About the Role
iCube LLC is hiring a Virtualization & VDI Infrastructure Specialist to join our technical operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end administration, deployment, and operational optimization of our enterprise virtualization platforms and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).
This is a 100% remote, full-time independent contractor position designed for an autonomous systems professional with solid expertise in the VMware ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
VMware & Hypervisor Administration: Deploy, configure, and maintain VMware vSphere environments, ESXi hosts, distributed switches, and Microsoft Hyper-V clusters.

VDI Operations & Horizon Management: Oversee VMware Horizon components, including Connection Servers, Unified Access Gateways (UAG), and App Volumes.

Image & Desktop Provisioning: Build, test, and standardize Golden Images, application packages, and automated instant-clone desktop pools.

Storage & Network Maintenance: Monitor and configure shared SAN/NAS storage environments (iSCSI, NFS, VMFS) and multi-node clusters to ensure continuous data availability.

Automation & Patching: Execute firmware, OS, and hypervisor patching, utilizing PowerShell/PowerCLI or Python to automate operational routines.

Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnose and resolve complex virtual desktop performance issues, profile management errors, and infrastructure bottlenecks.

Documentation & Standards:



Maintain system architecture diagrams, baseline configurations, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Requirements & Qualifications
Language: Professional English proficiency ( C1 or Native equivalent ) for written and verbal technical collaboration.

Location: Must currently reside and be legally authorized to contract in Mexico or the United States .

Experience:
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Enterprise Systems and Virtualization Infrastructure.

Minimum 2 years of dedicated administration within VMware vSphere and VMware Horizon VDI environments.

Technical Skills:
VMware vSphere, ESXi, VMware Horizon (UAG, App Volumes, Dynamic Environment Manager).

Windows Server administration, Active Directory, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs).

Familiarity with SAN/NAS storage, VLANs, and virtual switches.

Scripting proficiency with PowerShell / PowerCLI or Python.

Work Style & Attributes:
High level of self-direction, discipline, and organized troubleshooting methodologies without requiring constant supervision.

Structured approach to ticket management, change control, and operational reporting.
