Job Title - Business Analyst – Insurance Domain

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with strong Insurance domain knowledge to work closely with business stakeholders, product teams, technology teams, and QA teams to analyze business requirements and translate them into clear functional specifications.

The adecuado candidate should have hands‑on experience working on Insurance processes, policy administration, claims, underwriting, billing, and/or insurance products and should be comfortable working in Agile environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, SMEs, developers, and QA teams to understand and document business requirements.
- Conduct requirements gathering sessions, stakeholder interviews, workshops, and requirement analysis.
- Translate business requirements into Business Requirements Documents (BRD), Functional Requirements Documents (FRD), user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Analyze and document insurance business processes, workflows, and system requirements.
- Work on insurance processes including policy administration, underwriting, claims, billing, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and policy servicing.
- Identify business process gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Create process flows, workflow diagrams, use cases, functional specifications, and data mappings.
- Work closely with development and QA teams to clarify requirements and resolve functional questions.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by preparing test scenarios, reviewing test cases, and validating system functionality against business requirements.
- Analyze defects and assist teams in identifying root causes and appropriate resolutions.
- Support data analysis, reconciliation, and validation using SQL and reporting tools where required.




- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand‑ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Maintain requirements traceability and ensure requirements are properly documented throughout the project lifecycle.
- Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and business impacts to relevant stakeholders.

Insurance Domain Knowledge

Candidates should have experience with one or more of the following:

- Premium Calculations
- Insurance Products
- Quote-to-Bind Process
- First Notice of Loss (FNOL)
- Claims Adjudication
- Agent/Broker Management
- Customer/Policy Management

Experience in Property & Casualty (P&C;), Life Insurance, Health Insurance, Commercial Insurance, or General Insurance is preferred.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of SDLC
- Good analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications
- Experience with JIRA / Confluence or similar tools
- Basic to intermediate SQL knowledge is preferred
- Experience with process mapping tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, or similar is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of Business Analyst experience, preferably within the Insurance industry.
- Experience working with insurance platforms or policy administration systems is highly preferred.
- Experience working in large enterprise environments with multiple business and technology stakeholders.
