A typical day in this role The Record to Report (R2R) Accountant is responsible for executing and coordinating accounting activities related to the period-end close, financial reporting, and balance sheet integrity. This role ensures accurate financial records in compliance with US GAAP, local statutory requirements (including Mexican GAAP when applicable), and internal controls.
Responsibilities
- Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries
- Perform accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, and adjustments
- Ensure timely and accurate financial close
- Maintain General Ledger accounts
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations
- Investigate and resolve reconciling items
- Ensure account balances are accurate and supported
- Support preparation of financial statements
- Analyze financial results and explain variances
- Provide reporting to internal stakeholders and management
- Support audits (internal and external)
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS (if applicable), and local Mexican statutory requirements.
- Assist with audit requests and regulatory reporting
Education
- High school diploma required.
- Associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is required for this role
Experience
- Minimum 6 years of bookkeeping, accounting, or financial experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounts receivable processes and the strategic importance of the A/R function.
- Preferable knowledge and experience in logistics business.
