Compliance Officer – Mexico Location: Mexico City, Mexico, Remote or Hybrid

VelaFi is a global financial technology company specializing in B2B cross-border payments, stablecoin settlement, and treasury solutions. We provide compliant, secure, and efficient payment infrastructure connecting businesses across Latin America, the United States, and other global markets.
As our business in Mexico continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced, commercially minded Compliance Officer to lead local compliance operations, support regulatory registrations and maintain a compliance framework that enables responsible and sustainable growth.
Manage day-to-day compliance for VelaFi’s operations in Mexico, ensuring adherence to applicable payments, money transmission, fintech, AML/CFT, data protection, and virtual-asset requirements.
Develop and continuously improve local compliance policies, procedures, risk assessments, and internal controls in alignment with VelaFi’s integral compliance framework.
Oversee AML/CFT, KYC, KYB, KYT, beneficial ownership identification, customer risk rating,



sanctions screening, PEP and adverse-media screening, transaction monitoring, investigations, and case escalation.
Assess the business models, transaction structures, and fund flows of customers operating in cross-border payments, corporate collections and payouts, foreign exchange, stablecoin settlement, and higher-risk industries.
Evaluate on-chain risks, including wallet exposure, source and destination of funds, sanctions exposure, high-risk services, unusual transaction patterns, and other financial-crime indicators.
Monitor regulatory developments affecting payments, fintech, stablecoins, and virtual assets in Mexico, translating new requirements into practical business processes and controls.
Partner with Product, Operations, Sales, Treasury, Legal, Risk, and Global Compliance teams to assess risk before launching new products, payment corridors, or customer segments.
