Job Summary

The Buyer at Jabil, Inc. is responsible for procuring materials, components, and services necessary for the company's manufacturing operations, ensuring timely delivery, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with quality standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the efficiency and profitability of our supply chain.

Job Responsibilities

- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve favorable agreements and cost savings.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with a diverse supplier base, evaluating their performance and capabilities.
- Issue purchase orders, track order status, and expedite deliveries as needed to meet production schedules.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to understand material requirements and specifications.
- Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to optimize stock while minimizing obsolescence.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including shortages, quality issues, and price fluctuations.
- Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and new technologies to inform purchasing decisions.
- Ensure compliance with Jabil's purchasing policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.




- Resolve discrepancies with suppliers regarding invoices, shipments, and quality issues.
- Participate in supplier audits and performance reviews.

Job Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed purchasing decisions.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of global sourcing and logistics preferred.
- CPIM, CSCP, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
