Purpose of Role
The Spanish Translator is responsible for translating English Operator Guides, Service Manuals, and associated customer-facing English documentation into Spanish. This documentation includes information for newly built equipment and revisions to existing documentation.

Responsibilities
After using selected machine translation tools, the Spanish Translator will proof-read that content for accuracy and linguistic consistency.Working with the Technical Writers, the Spanish Translator will ensure common and repeated usage of technical terminology across all documentation.Develop the lexicon for use throughout the Technical Publications Team.Master all related software.Take part in all project planning sessions to ensure the completion of all translated content is available by the appropriate shipping dates.Help to develop a regular translation review process to ensure that all English revisions are properly captured in the corresponding translated manuals.Working with the Technical Writing Team Lead, to update the Production Log spreadsheet with completed shipments and related information.
Qualifications
Education

Diploma or Degree in Translation is preferred.ATA (American Translators Association) membership is desired or equivalent.

Experience

At least 2 years experience as a Translator.Fluency in Spanish and English is required.Experience in a Parts, Engineering, or Technical Publications is an asset.Good computer literacy with experience using AI Machine Translation software, Adobe Acrobat, and MS Office is desired.Experience using graphics software is a significant asset.Experience with desktop publishing is an asset.Good mechanical aptitude is an asset.
