Local Localization expert validating Mexico-specific configuration, CFDI e-invoicing, and tax compliance for an SAP S/4HANA implementation, in close coordination with the offshore QBA team.
1. Provide Finance functional expertise for the Mexico localization scope.
2. Own CFDI (Comprobante Fiscal Digital por Internet) e-invoicing requirements and PAC (Proveedor Autorizado de Certificación) integration — confirm whether integration is via SAP standard, a certified PAC, or a third-party provider.
3. Support IVA compliance, including DIOT (Declaración Informativa de Operaciones con Terceros) reporting obligations and monthly provisional IVA payments (pagos provisionales).
4. Provide expertise in foreign trade reporting (Pedimentos, Complemento Comercio Exterior).
5. Support Mexican statutory tax (ISR) and Withholding Tax reporting (retenciones de IVA/ISR and constancias de retención where relevant).
6. Support Trade & Customs localization requirements (Pedimentos, Complemento Carta Porte, customs documentation).
7. Review the SAP ECC reference landscape and provide inputs for the S/4HANA target solution.
8. Participate in localization SIT, UAT, and data migration; validate migrated master data and balances.
9. Identify localization gaps and drive resolution with the offshore team via a tracked issue log.
10.
Provide local regulatory/business input and flag upcoming Mexican e-invoicing/tax scheme changes (SAT CFDI/Carta Porte version updates).
11. Support documentation, testing artifacts, and knowledge transfer.
Mandatory Qualifications
- 5–8 years SAP Localization experience with demonstrable Mexico localization delivery, specifically CFDI/PAC go-live experience.
- IVA, foreign trade (Pedimentos), and Mexican statutory tax (ISR) reporting knowledge.
- Trade & Customs process familiarity.
- SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA experience (confirm deployment model, as PAC connectivity setup varies).
- SIT/UAT and data migration experience.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Good-to-Have Qualifications
- Complemento Carta Porte: experience with the Carta Porte complement for goods-in-transit e-invoicing.
- CFDI retention: familiarity with SAT's long-term digital storage/retention requirements (5 years) for CFDIs.
- Regional/sector nuances: exposure to sector-specific invoicing rules (e.g., IEPS excise goods, maquiladora/IMMEX operations).
- Data protection: data-handling training relevant to Mexico's LFPDPPP during migration.
Language Requirements
Spanish: fluent/professional. English: strong professional proficiency for offshore communication.
