Role Description The Data & Platform Engineer role is a full-time hybrid position based in Monterrey, NLE, with a mix of on-site and work-from-home flexibility. This role is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data platforms and infrastructure that support Sun Holdings’ restaurant and retail operations. Day-to-day activities include developing and deploying software solutions, managing databases, optimizing data pipelines, and ensuring the reliability and performance of core systems.
The engineer will troubleshoot technical issues, implement improvements to platform architecture, and collaborate with cross-functional teams such as IT, operations, and analytics to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient data services. The role also involves monitoring system health,
documenting technical processes, and contributing to best practices for data governance and security.
Qualifications
- Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose, resolve, and prevent issues across data platforms and infrastructure.
- Experience in software development and programming for building, integrating, and automating data and platform solutions.
- Knowledge of infrastructure concepts, including cloud or on-prem environments, networking basics, and system performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience working with databases, including design, querying, performance tuning, and data integrity management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with data pipelines, ETL tools, APIs, and integration between operational systems and analytical platforms.
- Understanding of security best practices, access control, and data privacy in enterprise environments.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in hybrid teams across technical and business functions.
- Prior experience in multi-unit retail or restaurant operations, or large-scale enterprise environments, is beneficial.
- Professional proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred for coordination with local and national teams.
