A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Laboratory Supervisor at our High Voltage Switchgear factory in Querétaro, you will lead and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Test Field team. You will ensure that electrical and mechanical testing activities for high-voltage circuit breakers are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable quality standards and customer requirements. You will balance technical problem-solving, people leadership, operational planning, and cross-functional coordination to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets. You will also support continuous improvement initiatives and the professional development of the Test Field team.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead and coordinate Test Field personnel during the assigned shift, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, testing, delivery, and productivity targets.
- Ensure the timely execution of electrical and mechanical testing programmes for customers in Mexico, the United States, and Europe, including model changes and Factory Acceptance Tests.
- Monitor operational KPIs, including OEE, FPY, efficiency, productivity, downtime, and testing plan adherence, and implement corrective and continuous improvement actions.
- Lead the resolution of complex electrical, mechanical, equipment, and process issues through root-cause analysis and Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Logistics, Production, Project Management, and Shipping teams while maintaining effective shift handovers, personnel administration, training, and communication across functions.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electromechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- More than 3 years of experience in manufacturing and test field operations within the energy industry,
including strong knowledge of electrical testing and high-voltage equipment.
- Experience leading operational personnel, coordinating shift activities, managing priorities, and addressing personnel training and administrative matters.
- Knowledge of international quality standards, including the ISO 9001 series, continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma, and applicable CFE and European standards for high-voltage electrical testing.
- Advanced English skills to communicate with international teams, combined with solid analytical thinking, cross-functional collaboration, problem-solving capabilities, and availability to work rotating shifts.
About the Team
You will join the EQS team supporting the operations of our High Voltage Switchgear factory in Querétaro and will report to the Head of EQS at the factory. The team brings together professionals from different operational and technical areas who share Siemens Energy’s Zero Harm and Zero Defects vision. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Planning, Production, Quality, Engineering, Project Management, Logistics, Maintenance, and Shipping.
You will also be part of a global Test Field network, exchanging best practices with colleagues from other factories and supporting the digital transformation of testing and quality processes. The team values continuous learning, international collaboration, technical innovation, and diverse perspectives.
