The Manufacturing Quality Engineer (MQE) serves as the process quality owner within a manufacturing operation. This role combines manufacturing process expertise with quality engineering discipline scope to ensure safe, capable, efficient, and defect-free manufacturing processes.
The MQE drives improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) by owning process controls, process validation, defect-prevention strategies, continuous improvement initiatives, and chronic issue elimination The position works closely with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Automation, Maintenance and NPI/Product Engineering to embed quality into daily manufacturing activities and prevent defects at the source, SQE, driven all involved departments to achieve department and Plant KPI’s.
- The MQE drives automation projects, selects and defines priorities for cost reduction, automation projects. MQE drives Continuous improvement initiatives aligned with continuous improvement department resources.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Quality, or a related engineering field.
- Three or more years of experience in manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, process engineering,
or a related manufacturing role.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience with process optimization, validation, and root cause analysis.
- Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flows, SPC, and problem-solving tools.
- Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
- Ability to influence without direct authority

- Prevention and continuous-improvement mindset
- Red X, Six Sigma minimum Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Preferred
- Experience in SMT and PCBA processes – P84
- Experience in Molding, Stamping, or Final Assembly processes – P47 & P81
- Experience in Compression Molding (P47).
- Experience in Final Assembly processes P45 (P81 & P84).
- Knowledge of automation and industrial engineering concepts.
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of ERP and MES systems.
- Experience supporting plant start-ups, transfers, or major process changes.
