Role Description
Atlas Solutions is seeking an experienced and highly analytical Research Analyst to support market research, market intelligence, and reporting initiatives.
This is a research-focused role responsible for collecting, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting quantitative and qualitative information and transforming research findings into clear, well-structured market analyses and professional reports.
The idóneo candidate will have demonstrated experience conducting desk research, working with market and trade databases, analyzing statistical and commercial data, identifying market trends and competitive dynamics, and preparing market research reports, market assessments, country analyses, executive summaries, and evidence-based recommendations.
The Research Analyst will work closely with the Program Manager and Regional Director to support research assignments across different markets, industries, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive desk research and market analysis using government, trade, industry, company, academic, and other credible sources.
- Collect, clean, organize, and analyze market, trade, economic, industry, and import/export data using databases such as UN Comtrade, Trade Map, USITC DataWeb, national customs databases, and comparable platforms.
- Analyze historical and current data to identify market size, trade flows, trends, growth patterns, sourcing dynamics, and competitive positioning.
- Conduct industry, company, competitor, and value-chain research to identify key market participants, barriers, opportunities, and relevant market developments.
- Identify, research, verify, and compile B2B, trade, government, regulatory, institutional, and industry contacts, maintaining accurate and organized stakeholder databases.
- Research regulatory frameworks, import requirements, tariffs, standards, HS classifications,
customs procedures, and market-access conditions.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding research activities, data, and findings, including clients and trade contacts as needed to support research projects.
- Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative information from multiple sources, cross-referencing findings to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
- Translate research and data into clear market insights, findings, conclusions, and evidence-based recommendations.
- Prepare and contribute to professional market research reports, market assessments, country profiles, industry analyses, executive summaries, charts, tables, and presentations.
- Maintain well-organized research files, datasets, source documentation, contact databases, and supporting materials using Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Slack, and other collaboration tools.
- Conduct and support research interviews with trade and industry contacts, including interview preparation, coordination, documentation, and analysis of findings, with appropriate project oversight.
- Support consumer and market research surveys, including coordination with third-party research providers on research questions, information collection, and analysis of results.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, International Business, International Relations, Business Administration, Agricultural Economics, Statistics, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in market research, business intelligence, economic research, international trade, consulting, data analysis, or a related field.
- Demonstrated and verifiable experience conducting market research and market analysis projects, preferably within Latin American markets.
- Proven experience conducting secondary research and working with multiple data sources to develop comprehensive market and industry analyses.
- Demonstrated experience working with market, trade, economic, industry, and statistical databases, including extracting, cleaning, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data.
- Experience analyzing import/export statistics,
trade flows, market trends, industry data, competitive information, and regulatory or market-access information.
- Demonstrated experience preparing professional market research reports, market assessments, country profiles, industry analyses, executive summaries, and data-driven recommendations.
- Experience researching and developing databases of B2B, trade, government, regulatory, institutional, and industry contacts.
- Strong analytical and professional writing skills, with the ability to transform complex research and data into clear, concise, well-supported findings and recommendations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, including data analysis, charts, tables, reports, and presentations.
- Proficiency with Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Slack, Microsoft Teams, and other remote collaboration and document-management tools.
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrated professional experience working in remote or distributed work environments, with the ability to independently manage assignments, deadlines, communication, and deliverables.
- Advanced professional proficiency in English and Spanish, including strong research and professional writing capabilities.
- Strong attention to detail, source-validation skills, organization, and ability to manage multiple research assignments and meet deadlines independently.
- Experience in agriculture, food and beverage, manufacturing, textiles, international trade, or market development is preferred.
- Ability to clearly explain research findings, data, and analytical insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience conducting research interviews with industry or trade stakeholders and/or supporting consumer or market research surveys is strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with internal teams, clients, trade contacts, and third-party research providers.
Additional Information
- This is a part-time independent contractor position, approximately 20 hours per week.
- Initial 6-month contract, with potential for renewal based on performance and business needs.
- Candidate must be currently based in Mexico.
- The position is fully remote and requires strong proficiency working with digital research, data analysis, document management, and collaboration platforms.
- Compensation is USD $1,400 per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
