Position Purpose The Home Depot General Technology Center is seeking a talented Front End Engineer to build modern, scalable, and customer-focused web applications that support one of the world's largest home improvement retailers. In this role, you will partner with product managers, designers, architects, and software engineers to create intuitive user experiences and develop high-quality front-end solutions that serve millions of customers and associates.

You will contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of responsive web applications while helping drive engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement across our technology organization.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain modern web applications using React.js, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Build reusable UI components and front-end libraries for future use.
- Collaborate with UX designers to translate wireframes and mockups into engaging user experiences.
- Integrate front-end applications with RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, accessibility, and performance.
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following engineering best practices.
- Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while supporting application reliability.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing strategies.
- Partner with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver business value quickly and efficiently.
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to the front-end ecosystem.





- Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong experience developing web applications with React.js and JavaScript (ES6+).
- Proficiency with:
- HTML5
- CSS3
- Responsive Web Design
- JSON
- REST APIs
- Git version control
- Experience with state management libraries such as Redux, Context API, or similar.
- Understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and front-end architecture.
- Experience building and consuming APIs.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with TypeScript.
- Experience with modern build tools such as Webpack, Vite, Babel, or similar.

- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright.

- Understanding of accessibility (WCAG) standards and SEO best practices.
