Software Engineer — Product & Frontend

Role Description:

Cultured Supply is hiring a software engineer to work closely with our lead engineer and help build Mission Control, our proprietary platform for turning market intelligence into actionable sales and operational workflows.

This is a generalist software engineering role with an emphasis on frontend development, product thinking, and user experience. You’ll build polished interfaces, connect them to real data and backend systems, and help shape how users interact with workflows involving market signals, opportunities, outreach, analytics, and CRM data.

Although the role leans toward frontend development, you’ll build across the Mission Control stack, including APIs, databases, integrations, AI-powered features, and internal tooling. You’ll follow features across the system, learn quickly, and take increasing ownership from initial ideas through implementation and verification.

This is a strong fit for an early-career engineer who has built real projects, cares about how software feels to use, and wants to grow quickly inside a small, ambitious team.

Employment: Full-time

Location: In person at our office in San Jerónimo, Monterrey. Being located in Monterrey, Mexico is required.

Language: Spanish and highly proficient or fluent English.

Responsibilities:

- Ship features end-to-end across the frontend, backend, and data layers of Mission Control.
- Build polished interfaces for market intelligence, opportunities, outreach, analytics, and customer workflows.
- Turn complex data and operational processes into experiences that feel clear, responsive, and intuitive.
- Design and build integrations with APIs, CRMs, and other customer systems.
- Work closely with engineering and operations to turn real business processes into reliable software.
- Contribute to product and design decisions, not only implementation.
- Create reusable components and improve the consistency and quality of the product.
- Write clean, well-tested code and take ownership of the systems you build.
- Use AI development tools productively while understanding, reviewing, and verifying what you ship.

- Participate in code review, technical planning, and the continuous improvement of our engineering practices.

Qualifications:

What We Look For

- High agency: you can take a problem, investigate it, and move it forward without waiting for step-by-step instructions.
- A strong learning instinct and genuine curiosity about unfamiliar systems, tools, and domains.
- Good product judgment: you think about what the user needs, not only what the ticket says.
- Attention to visual details, interaction states, edge cases, and the overall quality of the experience.
- Comfortable operating in a startup environment where priorities evolve and problems may initially be ambiguous.
- Pragmatic and execution-oriented: you can build a solid first version, learn from it, and iterate.
- Able to explain your decisions, ask thoughtful questions, and accept direct feedback.
- Comfortable using AI development tools without treating their output as automatically correct.

Core Skills & Experience

- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including APIs, relational databases, and application architecture.
- Experience building frontend applications with React or a similar component-based framework.
- Understanding of responsive design, component architecture, application state, forms, and data fetching.
- Ability to translate a product idea or design into a polished, usable interface.
- Comfortable working across the stack and learning unfamiliar tools when a project requires it.
- Familiarity with Git, pull requests, code review, and collaborative repositories.
- Ability to troubleshoot independently and verify that a feature works beyond the happy path.
- Clear written communication and the habit of documenting important decisions.

- Approximately one to three years of relevant experience through employment, internships, freelance work, or substantial independent projects.

You don’t need to check every box. If most of this resonates with you, we encourage you to apply.

You should be comfortable using tools such as Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar coding agents. We do not expect you to know every tool already, but we do expect curiosity, critical thinking, and a willingness to learn.

Nice to Have

- Experience creating dashboards, data visualizations, or other data-heavy interfaces.
- Familiarity with design tools such as Figma.
- A portfolio demonstrating strong frontend execution or product-design sensibility.
- Experience building AI-enabled product features.
- Familiarity with automated testing, browser testing, accessibility, or visual QA.
- Experience shipping and maintaining a project used by real people.
