A key initiative will be the migration of a legacy profit-and-loss (P&L;) system into the core trading platform, followed by the decommissioning of the legacy system. You will also contribute to ongoing feature development, troubleshooting, code reviews, and production support.
This is a hands-on engineering role where strong Java development experience is the top priority.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop new features for a production trading platform.
- Work directly with traders and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Contribute to the migration of a legacy P&L; system into the trading platform.
- Write and maintain production-quality Java code.
- Participate in code reviews and help maintain engineering standards.
- Investigate and resolve bugs and production issues.
- Collaborate with other engineers across the trading platform team.
- Use AI development tools such as Claude to support development, troubleshooting, code review, and problem solving.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong, hands-on Java expertise — this is the primary technical requirement.
- Working experience with Python and SQL databases.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized applications.
- Experience using AI tools such as Claude in software development.
- Strong experience across the software development lifecycle, including requirements, technical specifications, coding, code reviews, debugging, and releases.
- Professional English communication skills and the ability to collaborate directly with US-based engineers and business stakeholders.
