The Role
Moderna is seeking a Senior Manager, Finance for Mexico to serve as the Finance lead for the Mexico affiliate while also acting as the company’s authorized Legal Representative, or Representante Legal, for Moderna Mexico. This role will primarily provide the local statutory, financial and tax support for the legal entity, as well as provide financial leadership and strategic decision support to the Commercial organization, partnering closely with with the local teams across functions for local accounting and finance operations, forecasting and performance management. While this role is primarily dedicated to supporting the Mexico affiliate, it may also provide finance support across Latin America and other emerging commercial markets as needed. This may include partnering on regional finance initiatives, statutory and tax matters, commercial finance activities, and cross-market projects in collaboration with Commercial Finance, Controllership and Payroll & Tax.

In parallel, this role will be accountable for safeguarding statutory compliance across tax, payroll, social security, treasury, banking and customs-related obligations, while partnering closely with Finance, Legal, CMC, Compliance, HR, Trade Compliance and external advisors. The Senior Manager will serve as a critical control owner for Mexico, ensuring that local business operations are supported by robust financial governance, effective risk management and strong statutory controls.

Here's What You’ll Do
Statutory representation and governance
Act as the authorised Legal Representative for Moderna Mexico, holding the applicable power of attorney within a clearly defined and appropriately controlled scope.

Represent the company before relevant Mexican authorities, including SAT, IMSS, INFONAVIT, FONACOT, INM and customs authorities, in coordination with Legal, Compliance and external advisors.

Ensure appropriate custody, protection and controlled use of the company’s e-Firma, confidential electronic credentials and related statutory documentation.

Tax, accounting and statutory compliance
With global tax team, co-lead local execution and oversight of tax registration, tax filings, notices, certifications and statutory communications with SAT and other relevant authorities.

With global accounting team, oversee monthly electronic accounting obligations, including trial balance, chart of accounts, journal entries, financial statements, bank reconciliations and required XML or system based submissions.

Partner with global finance, MESH finance teams and external advisors to review, validate and supervise accounting and tax deliverables prepared centrally or externally.

Support month end, quarter end and year end processes for Mexico, ensuring that local statutory requirements are reconciled with global reporting expectations.

Payroll, social security and labour related finance operations
Coordinate with HR, payroll providers and external advisors to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, social security filings and related employer obligations.

Oversee registrations, payments and filings with IMSS, INFONAVIT and FONACOT, ensuring appropriate controls, documentation and issue resolution.

Provide finance input into employee related cost, benefit, mobility and local employment matters where statutory or payroll obligations are triggered.

Treasury, banking and financial controls




Establish and manage local banking relationships required for statutory payments, payroll, tax, customs and other local financial transactions.

Act as local banking and treasury interface where required, ensuring that payment authority, bank access and signatory rights follow approved Finance controls and segregation of duties.

Ensure timely reconciliations, documentation of payment flows and resolution of local banking or treasury issues.

Strengthen local internal controls over payments, approvals, reconciliations, statutory filings, document custody and authority management.

Customs and trade compliance interface
Coordinate with Trade Compliance and external advisors on customs related obligations, import authorisations and value declarations.

Sign customs value declarations when required, using e-Firma in accordance with approved controls and documented authority.

Ensure tax and customs representation remain aligned, reducing operational risk from fragmented or outsourced representation models.

Escalate customs, import or authorisation risks early and support remediation plans with Legal, Compliance, Trade Compliance and Finance.

Leadership, stakeholder management and continuous improvement
Serve as the senior local Finance point of contact for Mexico, connecting local statutory execution with global Finance governance and enterprise controls.

Serve as a Finance partner for Latin America, collaborating with regional and global stakeholders to support consistent financial governance, operational excellence and scalable finance processes across the region.

Manage relationships with external tax, accounting, payroll, legal and banking partners, ensuring clear service expectations, accountability and evidence of compliance.

Build practical operating rhythms for daily, monthly, quarterly and annual obligations, supported by clear calendars, documentation, backups and escalation paths.

Identify process improvements, automation opportunities and control enhancements across local finance, tax, payroll, treasury and statutory activities.

Provide clear updates to Finance and cross functional stakeholders on key risks, open items, deadlines, decisions and required management actions.

Finance Business Partnering
Serve as the primary Finance Business Partner to the Mexico Commercial organization, providing financial leadership, insights and decision support to enable sustainable business growth and execution of market objectives.

Support broader Latin America commercial finance activities, including financial analysis, planning, forecasting and strategic initiatives.

Partner closely with the Commercial Operations leader to support the execution and ongoing financial assessment of the local partnership for fill & finish and distribution of Moderna vaccines. Deliver financial analysis, business performance insights and scenario modelling to identify risks, opportunities and strategic actions, translating complex financial information into clear business recommendations for leadership.

As may be required from time to time, support commercial growth initiatives, product launches,



pricing and market expansion activities by developing business cases, evaluating investment opportunities and ensuring alignment with Moderna's financial and operational objectives.

Additional duties as may be assigned from time to time

Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)
Mexican tax resident, required, and eligible to act as the company’s Legal Representative.

Fluent Spanish and strong professional English, required.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Tax, Business Administration or a related discipline. CPA, public accountant qualification, tax specialisation or equivalent local credential preferred.

Minimum 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in Mexican finance, tax, accounting, payroll, social security, treasury or statutory compliance roles, ideally in a multinational environment.

Experience interacting with IMSS, INFONAVIT, FONACOT, customs authorities, banks, payroll providers and external tax or accounting advisors.

Demonstrated ability to operate within a controlled Finance environment, including segregation of duties, payment controls, reconciliations, evidence retention and audit readiness.

High integrity, excellent judgement and comfort operating in a role with statutory authority, personal accountability and sensitive credential custody.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, medical devices or other highly regulated industry.

Prior experience as a legal representative, statutory signatory, finance controller, tax manager or senior local finance lead in Mexico.

Familiarity with customs, import processes, trade compliance requirements and customs value declarations.

Experience working with shared service centres, integral process owners, regional finance teams and outsourced advisory providers.

Experience supporting finance operations across multiple Latin American markets, particularly Mexico, within a multinational organization.

Experience with SAP or comparable enterprise financial systems, electronic accounting tools and structured control documentation.

Ability to translate complex local statutory requirements into clear business implications, decision points and practical operating procedures.
