The Tax Accountant I is an entry‐level professional role responsible for supporting tax compliance, reporting, and documentation activities in accordance with applicable tax laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role focuses on foundational tax execution and learning, performing assigned tasks under guidance while developing technical tax knowledge and professional judgment.
Responsibilities and duties
Supports day‐to‐day tax activities such as data preparation, calculations, reconciliations, and filing support across various tax areas (e.g., income tax, sales/use tax, or property tax, Safe Harbor, Gringo Tax, Repse, Electronic Accounting depending on assignment).
The role applies established tax procedures and accounting principles, escalates issues appropriately, and builds proficiency through structured work and mentoring.
Tax Compliance Support
Assist with preparation and support of tax filings and returns under supervision
Compile and organize data required for tax compliance activities
Follow established tax calendars, procedures, and controls
Prepare tax‐related calculations, schedules, and supporting workpapers Perform basic reconciliations between tax and general ledger data Investigate and resolve data discrepancies with guidance
Maintain accurate and well‐organized tax documentation and workpapers
Support document retention, audit trails, and internal control requirements
Ensure records meet internal and external documentation standards
Reporting & Analysis Support Assist with preparation of tax reports or disclosures as assigned
Support tax provision or reporting processes with data and schedules
Audit & Inquiry Support Assist in responding to internal or external audit requests
Escalate questions or issues to senior team members Cross‐Functional Collaboration
Work with Accounting, Finance, Payroll,
and external service providers as needed
Request and validate information from internal stakeholders
Communicate task status and questions clearly and professionally
Process Adherence & Learning
Follow tax policies, internal controls, and documented procedures
Learn applicable tax rules, systems, and reporting requirements
Actively seek feedback and coaching to build tax technical skills
Education, Experience and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field required 0–2 years of relevant experience in accounting, tax, or finance roles Internship or co‐op experience in accounting or tax preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Foundational understanding of accounting and tax principles
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Basic analytical and reconciliation skills
Proficiency with spreadsheets and basic financial systems
Ability to follow defined procedures and deadlines
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to learn tax regulations and compliance processes
PHYSYCAL ENVIRONMENT
This position involves time mainly in the office area with frequent visits to facilities and gatekeepers on the ground, it requires regular computer use and good database management. In case of having to go to production areas personal protection equipment will be provided, including protective shoes, safety glasses. sleeves, gloves, apron, and ears protection.
