Indirect Tax Specialist

Position Objective
Ensure the timely and accurate fulfillment of tax obligations related to indirect taxes in Mexico, mainly VAT and IEPS, through the proper calculation, review, and filing of tax returns, as well as the management of VAT credit, offset, and refund processes.
The specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with SAT requirements, the proper issuance and receipt of CFDIs, and the identification of improvement opportunities within tax and operational processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Calculate, review, and validate monthly VAT and IEPS tax returns.
- Analyze accounting and tax information required for the accurate determination of indirect taxes.
- Manage and follow up on VAT refund, offset, and credit processes.
- Review the proper issuance and receipt of CFDIs, ensuring compliance for tax deductibility and VAT credit purposes.
- Address and follow up on requirements, invitations, and information requests from the SAT.




- Review and interpret the VAT Law, IEPS Law, Federal Tax Code, and other applicable tax regulations.
- Analyze changes to the Miscellaneous Tax Resolution and assess their impact on operations.
- Identify tax risks and propose preventive or corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Accounting, Finance, Legal, and other internal departments to obtain information and ensure tax compliance.
- Participate in the improvement, standardization, and optimization of tax processes.
- Prepare reports, reconciliations, and analyses related to indirect taxes.
- Maintain updated documentation and supporting evidence for tax transactions.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Public Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4 to 6 years of experience in indirect taxes in Mexico.
- Hands-on experience in:
- Preparation and filing of VAT returns.
- Calculation and review of IEPS.
- VAT refund and/or offse
