Mision: An Import/Export Coordinator is responsible for managing the international movement of materials and finished goods while ensuring compliance with trade regulations and company policies.
The role coordinates shipments, prepares and reviews import/export documentation, and works closely with customs brokers, carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely deliveries.
Key responsibilities include monitoring customs clearance activities, resolving logistics issues, maintaining accurate trade records, and ensuring compliance with customs laws and trade agreements such as USMCA/T-MEC.
The coordinator also tracks shipment status, communicates updates to stakeholders, and supports audits related to import/export operations.
In a manufacturing environment,
the position plays a critical role in maintaining supply chain continuity by ensuring the timely delivery of materials needed for production.
The coordinator collaborates with Purchasing, Production, Planning, and Finance teams to meet operational objectives, minimize disruptions, and optimize transportation costs.
Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and a solid understanding of international trade, customs compliance, and logistics processes.
Responsibilities: Coordinate import and export shipments to ensure timely delivery of materials and products.
Prepare and review trade documentation , including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and customs declarations.
Work closely with customs brokers and freight forwarders to ensure compliance with international trade regulations.
Monitor customs clearance activities and resolve any issues that could delay shipments.
Ensure compliance with import/export laws, trade agreements, and company policies.
Track and manage shipment schedules , providing updates to internal stakeholders and customers.
Maintain accurate import/export records and support audits related to customs and trade compliance.
Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, warehouses, and production teams to meet operational requirements.
Analyze transportation and logistics costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
What we are looking for: Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
2-5 years of experience in import/export operations, logistics, or international trade.
Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and transportation providers.
Background in manufacturing or automotive industry preferred.
Import and export regulations and customs procedures.
International shipping documentation Knowledge of USMCA/T-MEC and other trade agreements.
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, QAD, Oracle, etc.) is a plus.
Advanced English proficiency, both written and verbal.
Effective communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Experience with IMMEX, Annex 24, and Annex 30.
Knowledge of customs compliance and trade regulations.
