We are seeking an Automation Tester to execute the test strategy across all Exploration Pod products, with a particular focus on the explorer platform, live events product, and field notes platform. In this role, you will automate the highest-priority test cases for the live events product, validate event stream consumer reliability fixes, and maintain browser automation suites for the field notes platform. The idóneo candidate has proven Cypress expertise, experience testing event-driven and integration-heavy systems, and brings a methodical approach to defect documentation.

Responsibilities

- Automate the top 28 priority test cases for the live events product using Cypress
- Maintain and extend existing Cypress browser automation suites for the field notes platform
- Execute regression, integration, and exploratory testing across sprint cycles for all pod products
- Design and execute test scenarios for Kafka consumer reliability fixes, including dead-letter queue and retry behavior
- Validate fan-out write consistency across the explorer platform's three target data stores
- Test CRM and GIS integration flows in collaboration with the Integration Engineer
- Run accessibility checks using axe-core and report findings against WCAG 2.1 AA standards
- Execute Lighthouse CI performance checks and flag regressions to the pod lead
- Create, maintain, and organize test cases in TestRail for all Exploration products
- Triage and document defects clearly, providing reproduction steps and environment context




- Participate in incident response simulation exercises with the pod lead and infrastructure team
- Align pod-level practices with the cross-portfolio test strategy in collaboration with the QA Manager

Requirements

- 2+ years of experience in automation testing with proficiency in Cypress
- Experience testing event-driven and integration-heavy systems
- Familiarity with Playwright for browser automation
- Knowledge of test management practices using TestRail
- Understanding of accessibility testing standards, including WCAG 2.1 AA, using axe-core
- Skills in performance testing using Lighthouse CI
- Familiarity with GitLab CI for continuous integration workflows
- Methodical approach to defect documentation, including reproduction steps and environment context
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher
