Harnessing Solutions Engineer

Location: Tlaquepaque, Jalisco Work model: On-site

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. 4:30 p.m.

Reports to: Procurement Director

About the Role

We are looking for a Harnessing Solutions Engineer with strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in wire harnesses, cable assemblies, automotive electrical systems, or related electrical interconnection solutions. The idóneo candidate will have a solid understanding of harness components, manufacturing processes, technical specifications, BOMs, engineering changes, and product launches.

Experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Development, or supplier negotiations is highly desirable, but not mandatory.

The position will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Supply Chain, and suppliers to support the development, sourcing, industrialization, and continuous supply of harnessing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide technical support for wire harness and cable assembly solutions, from development and qualification through serial production.
- Analyze technical drawings, specifications, BOMs, electrical diagrams, and engineering requirements.
- Support the selection and technical evaluation of wire & cable, connectors, terminals, contacts, housings, seals, sleeves, glands, molded/overmolded components, coverings, clips, and fastening systems.
- Evaluate alternative components, materials, and technical solutions in collaboration with Engineering and suppliers.
- Support NPI, product launches, prototypes, pre-series, engineering changes, and product transfers.




- Collaborate with suppliers on technical feasibility, component qualification, capacity, quality, lead times, and continuous improvement.
- Participate in supplier qualification and development activities.
- Support troubleshooting related to component availability, technical deviations, shortages, obsolescence, and production continuity.
- Work with Quality and Engineering on APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and corrective-action activities, when applicable.
- Identify opportunities for value engineering, localization, alternative sourcing, and design-to-cost.
- Collaborate with Procurement in RFQ/RFP processes, supplier evaluations, and commercial discussions when required.
- Maintain effective communication with local and international Engineering, Procurement, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, automotive electrical systems, wire harnesses, cable assemblies, or closely related industries.
- Strong practical or technical knowledge of wire harnesses and their components.
- Experience with several of the following: wire & cable, connectors, terminals, contacts, housings, seals, sleeves, tubing, braid, tape, heat shrink, molded/overmolded components,



or harness assembly/manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, electrical diagrams, BOMs, and specifications.
- Experience supporting new projects, NPI, prototypes/pre-series, engineering changes, or product launches.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and/or suppliers.
- Advanced English.
- Availability to work 100% on-site in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco.

Highly Desirable

- Previous experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Technical Purchasing, or Supplier Development.
- Experience with RFQs/RFPs, supplier selection, technical/commercial negotiations, and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Knowledge of major interconnection/component manufacturers such as TE Connectivity, Molex, Amphenol, Harting, or Phoenix Contact.
- Experience with SAP or another ERP system.
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and IATF 16949.
- Experience in automotive Tier 1/Tier 2 environments.
- Experience with high- and low-voltage harnessing solutions.
- Experience in supplier localization, alternative sourcing, or value engineering.
