The Material Flow Engineer is responsible for the design, technical evaluation, and execution of internal logistics and material handling processes for new program launches at Ford Mexico VO plants.You will lead facility readiness, floor-space planning, and material flow studies across pre-production and launch milestones, ensuring that tooling, layout configurations, and storage infrastructure are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and lean manufacturing standards.Provide engineering support for material flow process; document standards and procedures, provide training, overall adherence and maintenance to ensure materials are available in designated stock, markets and line locations throughout the facilityWork with Planning & Inventory Control, Production, Material Handlers, and Supply Chain to ensure robust policies are available and practiced and strive for continuous improvementApply technical expertise, commensurate with formal training and limited job experience, in the development of material flow processesDesign and/or develops material flow processes and equipmentRecommend changes to increase safety, reduce costs,



improve quality and optimize efficiencyParticipate in plant layout activitiesDevelop floor space analyses to confirm storage requirements and recommend practical solutions where required.Assist in qualifying manual and powered material handling equipment requirements.Work to improve material flow and manage materials and inventory consistent with Lean principlesLay out market, sequencing, and kitting areas to facilitate material handling, process flow, space utilization, and laborDefine and manages in-plant storage and call systems to maintain inventories; assists to define appropriate goals and metrics for proper material controlProvide vehicle and pedestrian flow/congestion/safety analyses and recommend practical solutions where requiredInteract on a regular basis with other functional groups and vendorsIndustrial, Logistics, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics or related.
A Bachelor of Engineering CertificationAdvanced knowledge CAD 2D design, creation of Isometrics, work cells, layout for process engineering and production areas related to Material flowExperience with analyzing data base, good knowledge in Excel, recommending and documenting modifications, enhancements, test results and problem resolutionsMicrosoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook/Access)English speaking & understandingLeadership skills to coordinate multiple teams from plants and from staffEven better, you may have:Preferred knowledge in data analytics and SAP2 or more years of materials experience#FordMexico#LI-HC1#J-*****-Ljbffr
