- design, develop, validate, and release vehicle electrical architecture
- develop, maintain, and release physical schematics from logical schematics
- select wire sizing to meet standards, specifications, and guidelines
- generate wire optioning based on pdl and complexity analysis
- assign inline connector numbers and maintain the inline connector book
- lead harness-to-harness inline connector selection, pinouts, and terminal sizing
- optimize inline partitioning and usage based on module packaging
- develop and maintain vehicle-level, eds ground, eds can, specialty cable, high-current cable, and architecture topologies
- develop and sign off ecae plans and maintain ecae reports in vsem
- lead resolution of unmet cae analyses
- develop ecar matrix phase 1 and address restricted connectors
- perform optimization studies to minimize wire length and cost
- support compatibility reviews with system integration and d&rs;
- perform dual harness complexity analyses and engineering cost estimates
- evaluate and approve program dts in vsem; generate dt lists and track milestone status
- lead eds systems deliverables in eds tdr and support systems integration tdr
- obtain vehicle fusing and grounding strategies
- develop and approve re-dv for eds systems changes
- perform eds netcom checklist and assess dcrs for eds systems impact
requirements
- bachelor's degree or equivalent
- engineering degree (electrical desirable) or related disciplines
- strong english proficiency (written, read, and oral)
- electrical distribution system tool knowledge (e3 zuken cable or mentor graphics capital design)
- microsoft office usage (excel, word, powerpoint, and visio)
- time and project management
- knowledge of ford gpds desirable
- understanding of feature partitioning desirable
- understanding of automotive systems desirable
- proactive, detail oriented, analytical thinking, and process oriented
- travel flexibility
