- develop, maintain, and improve cost accounting procedures, controls, and documentation.
- manage day-to-day activities related to standard costing, inventory accounting, manufacturing cost analysis, and month-end close activities.
- prepare and analyze weekly, monthly, and quarterly cost reports, including variance analysis versus budget and forecast.
- provide financial insights and cost-related metrics to support business operations and decision-making.
- perform ad hoc analysis related to product costs, manufacturing performance, and cost trends.
- lead annual standard cost updates and cost roll processes across manufacturing operations.
- partner with finance and operations teams to develop labor and overhead rates.
- coordinate standard costing activities, timelines, and deliverables across multiple manufacturing locations.
- monitor compliance with cost accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- analyze inventory and manufacturing cost metrics to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.




- ensure accurate and timely financial closing activities related to inventory, manufacturing expenses, and cost variances.
- review and validate bills of materials (boms), routings, labor standards, and overhead allocations.
- support inventory control processes, including cycle counts, inventory classifications, and excess and obsolete inventory analysis.
- collaborate closely with fp&a;, accounting, operations, and it teams to improve processes, reporting, and system effectiveness.
- participate in system implementations, process improvement initiatives, and automation projects related to costing and financial reporting.
- promote continuous improvement, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.

the successful applicant

a successful cost accounting manager should have

- bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
- previous experience in cost accounting or manufacturing finance, with a strong background in standard costing.
- solid understanding of inventory accounting, manufacturing cost analysis, and financial controls.
- experience working with erp systems; sap experience is preferred.
- advanced microsoft excel skills.
