As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer II here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing advanced manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for driving process optimization, innovation, productivity, product quality, and cost efficiency. With your experience and leadership skills, you will contribute to the success and growth of our organization.
You will report directly to the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager or designated Manufacturing Engineering leader and work on-site at our Mexicali, Baja California location. Travels within Mexico and internationally will depend on assignment needs.
In this role, you will impact on our manufacturing operations by developing and implementing advanced manufacturing strategies, leading cross-functional teams, introducing appropriate technologies, and using manufacturing data to identify and execute improvements. Your expertise will help us deliver innovative and high-quality products to our customers and maintain our position as a integral technology leader.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement advanced manufacturing strategies to enhance productivity, product quality, process capability, and cost efficiency.
- Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and achieve operational goals.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement advanced manufacturing technologies, including automation, robotics, additive manufacturing, AI, and digitization where applicable.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Analyze manufacturing data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, Quality Management Systems, industry standards, and applicable special-process controls.
- Develop and manage Scope of Work (SOW)
and HSE&F; Management of Change (MOC).
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Supplier Acceptance Tests (SAT), and oversee equipment installation, validation, and commissioning.
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
- Chemical Engineering Degree.
- Advanced English level.
- Special Processes experience aligned to the operation, including chemical cleaning, coatings, paints, etching, plating, anodize.
- Experience in advanced manufacturing engineering and process optimization.
- Proven record of driving process improvements.
- Analytical problem-solving, root-cause, and corrective action skills.
- Ability to work effectively in and lead cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in SAP/ERPs, Team Center/PLMs, and Corrective Actions Tracking Systems.
- CAD/CAM knowledge using NX, Catia, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or comparable applications.
- Experience in tooling design, fabrication, and maintenance.
- Nadcap-regulated process experience.
- Experience with Quality Management Systems, ISO/AS, PRI audits.
- Ability to think strategically and drive changes in a dynamic environment.
- Continuous Improvement Methodologies and tools like Process Map, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC.
- Proven experience in new product introduction and development.
- Commitment to continuous improvement methodologies and professional development.
- Ability to interpret technical documents such as drawings, specifications, technical bulletins, and industry standards.
- Advanced skills in MS Office, along with programming knowledge and familiarity with Power BI or similar applications.

- Special Processes experience aligned to the operation, including welding, composites, heat treatment, soldering, brazing, winding, balancing, and electrical or functional testing as applicable.
- Expertise in implementing advanced manufacturing technologies and processes.
- Familiarity with manual or CNC machining and manufacturing-equipment implementation.
- IPC, soldering, or crimping credentials.
- Experience with electromechanical products, heat exchangers, power-generation systems, or operation-specific manufacturing equipment and automation.
- Project management skills.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in advanced manufacturing.
- Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing certification.
- Master’s degree in technical fields (Chemistry, Manufacturing, Metallurgy, Materials, or related field).
