? Senior Observability & Telemetry Engineer (Go / Node.js)

? Project Description

Join a pioneering healthcare data platform team building client-scoped SLO monitoring and alerting solutions at scale. You will drive automated dashboard and alert generation across 110–140 distributed services, alongside an internal application delivering customer-specific SLA visibility. This role focuses heavily on application instrumentation, telemetry quality, and observability adoption. Plus, AI-assisted development (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) is fully embraced and encouraged!

? Contract Details: Initial 3-month contract with strong possibility of extension.

? Key Responsibilities

- Instrument Distributed Systems: Implement OpenTelemetry SDKs in Go and Node.js/TypeScript to establish robust metrics and high-fidelity telemetry.
- Cross-Team Impact: Contribute instrumentation changes and drive cross-team pull requests across multiple repositories and service boundaries.
- Cloud Deployments: Support and manage deployments using Kubernetes and Helm.
- API Ecosystem: Work extensively with modern GraphQL services and APIs.
- Data Integrity & Validation: Rigorously validate telemetry signals against independent data sources before operationalizing critical alerts.
- Collaborate: Partner closely with platform and observability teams to continuously elevate monitoring coverage and system reliability.





?️ Mandatory Technical Skills & Requirements
- Observability & OpenTelemetry: Strong, hands-on expertise with OpenTelemetry instrumentation and a deep understanding of monitoring distributed systems.
- Core Languages: Professional development experience in both Go and Node.js/TypeScript.
- Custom Metrics: Proven track record of implementing custom application metrics and telemetry pipelines.
- Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and GraphQL APIs.
- AI-Assisted Workflow: Familiarity with modern AI coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent.
- Analytical Rigor: Strong mindset with a healthy skepticism toward telemetry data quality—proven ability to cross-validate signals before alerting.
- Collaboration: Excellent communication skills to drive multi-repository code contributions to completion.
