L1 NOC Engineer is responsible for 24x7 monitoring, initial troubleshooting, incidentidentification, ticket management, and timely escalation of network, server, security,and infrastructure alerts.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor network, server, application, cloud, and security infrastructure using NOC monitoring tools.Perform 24x7 proactive monitoring of infrastructure alerts, events, and system health.Analyze alerts and perform initial-level troubleshooting and impact assessment.Create, update, categorize, and prioritize incidents/tickets based on business impact and severity.Perform basic troubleshooting of:o LAN/WAN connectivityo Switches and routerso Firewalls and VPN connectivityo Wi-Fi/access pointso Internet and ISP connectivityo Servers and system availabilityo Basic application and service availabilityFollow defined Incident Management, Event Management, and Escalationprocedures.Escalate unresolved or critical incidents to L2/L3 Network, Server, Security,Cloud,



or Application teams within defined timelines.Monitor critical infrastructure and ensure appropriate action is taken for P1/P2incidents.Perform basic network checks such as:o Ping and tracerouteo Interface/link statuso Packet loss and latency checkso CPU/memory/utilization checksPerform basic Server checks such as:o Server reachabilityo Server Health monitoring checkso Hard disk and RAM performance and usage monitoring.O Basic knowledge on RAIDo CPU/memory/utilization checkso Basic understanding of the Server models (HP,DELL)Monitor WAN links and report latency, packet loss, and link failures.Coordinate with ISPs, vendors, and internal support teams for incidentresolution.Maintain accurate ticket updates, troubleshooting notes, and incident timelines.Follow SOPs, runbooks, escalation matrices, and knowledge-base articles.Perform routine health checks and generate daily/shift monitoring reports.Participate in shift handovers and communicate all open/high-priority incidents.Identify recurring alerts and escalate them for problem management/root-causeanalysis.Maintain proper documentation of incidents, changes, and operationalactivities.Support planned maintenance, change activities, and infrastructureimplementation activities as required.
