The Associate Director of Collections is responsible for overseeing and evaluating the portfolio recovery process in accordance with established policies and procedures. This role works closely with the Director of Collections & Portfolio Administration to define collection strategies that maximize portfolio recovery, monitor risk concentrations, identify deviations from established KPIs and objectives, and implement corrective and preventive actions when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and evaluate collection and portfolio recovery processes while ensuring policy compliance.

Recommend improvements to collection structures, systems, and recovery processes.

Develop and monitor departmental KPIs and market variables, promoting continuous improvement.

Analyze and recommend solutions for exceptional cases that fall outside standard policies.

Communicate and reinforce collection policies, standards, and procedures across the team.

Ensure the collections team has the necessary infrastructure and resources to meet objectives.

Approve settlements, discounts, write-offs, and special negotiations within approved authority limits.

Recommend operational improvements that enhance efficiency and maximize collection performance.

Scope & Impact

Portfolio Performance: Monitoring NCL and collection performance indicators.

Cost Optimization: Reduction of reserves, collection agency fees, and incentive expenses.

Budget Management: Ensuring compliance with approved budgets.

People Leadership: Development and management of human capital within the collections organization.

Required Qualifications
Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field.

Master's Degree or Postgraduate Degree preferred.

Experience

Minimum 3 years of experience in collections and portfolio recovery.

Minimum 2 years in a managerial leadership role within collections.

Experience developing recovery strategies, managing teams, optimizing processes, and supporting business growth.
